Feminist activists held a rally in centrum Baku, with limited police intervention, on March 8.
While the main slogan of the rally was “We Cannot Remain Silent”, addressing femicide crisis in the country and government inaction, activists chanted several slogans, such as “Femicides are political”, “Hear the noises from houses, make the arrests on time”, and “Don’t force to make peace, investigate!”.
No one was detained during the rally, though police kept a close watch over the rally participants. Two posters with slogans “Woman’s place is revolution” and “Faggots are against dictatorship”, as well as LGBT flag and sprays, were taken from protestors.
