A brother of Azerbaijani soldier, who was killed in a recent border clashes with Armenia, appeared apologetic on a video circulating on social media, in the aftermath of his interviews where he talked about a bribery case involving his late brother.
On September 15, an amateur-filmed video appeared on social media, where Sanan Ahmadov – whose brother, soldier Sabuhi Ahmadov was killed on September 13 clashes with Armenia – retreated his words about a bribery case which he reported earlier and involved his brother.
Previously, following the death of his brother, Ahmadov said in the interviews that his brother was once demanded a bribe of 6000 manats in order for his rank to be raised in the army (which also meant twice higher salary). And his brother paid the bribe by taking a loan from a bank, Ahmadov said.
The Ministry of Defense told Qafqazinfo that Ahmadov was invited to the Ministry for a meeting following his interview.
A detailed conversation was held with the citizen Sanan Ahmadov about the topic that worries him. According to the order of the Minister of Defense, we are currently investigating the issue. Additional information will be provided to the public.

On the video published the same day later, however, Ahmadov says that he “investigated the issue” and realized that it was “a family-related concern”. He asked the public not to bring up the issue again.
Many users on social media noticed that Ahmadov was forced to say the things he said on the video, relating it to an infamous habit of Azerbaijani police to force people to apologize on camera after certain wrongdoings and then publish it.
They filmed it like a criminal interrogation, like famous apology videos, humiliated the person and shared it. The only thing they haven’t done was to have a martyr’s brother apologize. Is this the juggling act you call “officially investigated”? This is immoral, the next clear indicator of the rottenness of the system, making fun of the state of corruption.

Pro-government journalist Eynulla Fatullayev, who was present at Ahmadov’s meeting with officials, confirmed that the video was filmed at the Ministry of Defense office.
